The Biscuit Factory was established in early 2015 as one of the sites of Youth Juice Creative’s ‘Unpretty’ project, to address the growing imbalance between the large number of creatives seeking affordable studio space in the city and the dearth of appropriate spaces available.

That the building met full occupancy within only two weeks of opening its doors is a testament to the immense demand for spaces like the Biscuit Factory within the creative sector and the local community.

Since its soft launch in July 2015, the Biscuit Factory has played host to multiple non-profit, community and grassroots events, on top of offering subsidised spaces for emerging and/or disadvantaged artists.
